A light, timeless and somewhat modest design
The design of this house is a creative interpretation of the client's wishes, the surroundings and the regulations. sKin architects has succeeded in harmonising the concept, the materials and all the details. This is evident in the floor plan, the interior and the exterior. The SAPA windows and doors (Avantis 95 and Artline), installed by Peters Constructie Heijen BV, connect the interior with the outdoor space.
The residents of this house chose sKin architects from Boxtel (NL) because of the firm's clean design language and its involvement throughout the entire process. This beautiful eye-catcher is located at the beginning of a quiet, car-free lane. With its clean lines and thoughtful mix of modern and warm materials, this house immediately catches the eye. The attractive outdoor space and elevated position give this home even more allure.
As soon as you see the building, it is clear that this is going to be a special house. During the design process, the agency encountered an architectural challenge: creating a beautiful transition between concrete and white stucco on the rear façade. They found the solution in designing a ‘tube’ of glass surrounded by two L-shaped hooks. The joinery was carried out using SAPA aluminium profiles in Hydro Circal. Artline was specifically chosen for the large sliding doors, which offer a refined minimalist look for both the fixed and opening elements. These were combined with the Avantis 95 door for optimal thermal insulation.
Not only is the exterior special, the interior is also impressive.
The interior has a slightly industrial look thanks to the open layout and the use of robust materials, such as a flattened concrete floor and slim steel doors. Upon entering through the imposing entrance, you see a single long line of sight, which gives an idea of the spaciousness and width of the house. One of the starting points for the design of this house was that it should be light, timeless and somewhat understated, with functionality and aesthetics perfectly aligned.
