Elegance 52 Roof

Sloped Curtain Walling

Characteristics

The main profile principle of the Elegance 52 systems gives a great opportunity to build a variety of sloped glazing construction. The specialist, effective, multi-level drainage system with a two-stage pressure equalising seal gives a perfect tightness against water penetration. The outer seal is water-repellent, the ventilation and drainage channels ensure pressure equalising function. The inner seal takes up the pressure difference between inside and outside and is air and vapour tight.

External glazing beads are very low-profiled and equipped with water culvert to allow efficient flow of water and snow over external surfaces.

In regards to static loads, glazed roofs can have large spans due to an assortment of mullion profiles with high stiffness and anchoring solutions. Complicated 3D forms can be constucted using bespoke bracketing with adjustable angles. Sloped roofs can be naturally combined with vertical curtain walling and glazed facades with the use of incorporated gutter profiles.

System features of the Elegance 52 aluminium sloped glazing:

  • With overlapping connections and four drainage level profiles, the Elegance 52 system is perfect for sloped applications
  • Any water that may penetrate the outer seals is safely evacuated via the mullion drainage channels to an eaves level outlet or a connected vertical facade
  • Low profile cover caps allow water to efficiently flow over the external surface of the curtain wall
  • A range of gutter solutions provide a seamless integration between the sloped glazing and the vertical facade
  • Optional opening roof lights can provide effective natural smoke and heat ventilation. These are fitted with motors with the combination tested and certified according to EN 12101-2:2003
