/ KENGO KUMA, Architect at Kengo Kuma and Associates - Japan
Kengo Kuma is a worldly famous architect who completed his architectural and engineering studies at the University of Tokyo in 1979. As a research fellow at Columbia University in New York, he collaborated with Arata Isozaki from 1985 to 1986, before creating the Spatial Design Studio in 1987. In 1990, he founded an agency, Kengo Kuma & Associates, in Tokyo, then Kuma & Associates Europe in Paris in 1998. Kengo Kuma has designed several buil­dings in Japan for a range of different pur­poses: cultural (Ando Hiroshige Museum, 2001; Stone Museum, 2000), commer­cial (LVMH, Osaka, 2004), residential (Lotus House, 2005), and industrial (One Omotesando, Tokyo, 2003). More recently, he won the competitions for creation of the National Olympic stadium in Tokyo for the 2020 Summer Games and for the Saint-Denis Pleyel station as part of the Grand Paris Express transport system, planned for completion in 2023.

She is able to establish good working relationships with clients, consultants and team members and she has been leading many successful projects in Italy and abroad. She has been working in retail, hotel, office and mixed-use sectors from concept to completion. The most recent projects have been developed in BIM and according to sustainability standards. Cecilia joined Design International London in 2010 and she has been working in Milan since 2018.

Johan Sundberg works with clients throughout Sweden on private residences, multiple-family homes, interiors and special projects. His firm got off to a running start when the 2006 project Villa Bergman Werntoft, which was originally a thesis project, was nominated for the Swedish architecture magazine Arkitektur’s 2007 Debut Prize. Many projects have followed. The firm was selected as one of the world’s most interesting young architectural firms for Wallpaper Architects Directory 2010.   Today, Lund-based Johan Sundberg Architecture shares many of the firm’s daily responsibilities with a number of associate architects, and their finished projects are featured in architecture press from all around the world. Johan Sundberg also teaches at the Architecture Department of Lund University’s Faculty of Engineering (LTH).
