Care and maintenance

Cleaning

Products should be cleaned regularly to keep them looking attractive. Clean products look more attractive, perform better and are more durable. Do not use alkaline cleaners. Aluminium profiles are sensitive to alkaline substances and should never come into contact with them. Do not use abrasive detergents or scrub with abrasive sponges or cloths, as this is likely to cause mechanical damage. It is always best to use only water and a sponge. However, a neutral detergent can be used if necessary.

Maintenance

The product should be regularly checked and adjusted to ensure good function and a long lifespan. Moving parts should be kept lightly greased to prevent them from sticking. Check the fittings to make sure they are correctly positioned and their bolts are tightened.

Storage and handling

To preserve the high surface finish that the profiles have on delivery, observe the following guidelines for storage and handling:

Keep dry. Corrosion cannot occur without water.
Keep covered. Keep the covering material on as long as possible as it protects the profiles from water and dirt.
Ensure ventilation. Ventilate the storage area if possible. This will help keep the products dry and looking their best.

Contact corrosion can occur if rain or condensation collects on the surface of untreated aluminium profiles that are stored in contact with one another, for instance during storage or transport.
This causes water stains with an altered surface structure.
These stains are very difficult to remove. However, they do not affect the profiles' strength.

Protect aluminium profiles from splatter from welding and grinding, as this can result in small spots that are difficult to remove.
